UNIVERSITY TIPS PART 1

Welcome. Here we are, in the University studying a program for the next 7, 6, 5 or less years.

How can we scale through with good grades?

As an undergraduate currently in my second year. I do have some tips to share with you. It is almost a typical experience for all that gaining admission into a university in Nigeria is a cumbersome task. Nonetheless maintaining that admission with great performance is a greater task. In order to graduate with good grades & ethos.

Here are some tips I believe would help:

1. SET YOUR PRIORITY

Pertinent for success. Set your priorities as soon as you gain admission. This will help you a great deal. It will give you a sense of direction. You don't enter into a university for entering sake. You didn't just process admission for that, you processed admission to gain admission and with that, gain more knowledge and experience in your chosen field. So, put it in mind that you will need to set your priorities.  And your priorities should be your grade. Make your plans revolve around it.

2. TIME MANAGEMENT

University life is a challenging one to live. One of the reason is due to the numerous amount of academic tasks you would be pelted with. Good time management is a great tool that could help you get the right things done first (and at the right time). Getting to school early in the morning till late in the evening, attending classes and some other academic-related matters.

Sometimes this will deny you the chance to do some pertinent chores back at home (hostel) and even do your daily studying. That's why you need to make appropriate use of your time. You surely won't want to prodigalize the little free time you would get once in a while. Don't waste your time on frivolous things like a party, chatting (unnecessarily), playing (excessively) etc. I am not saying you should not play, but be moderate with it.

3. BEFRIENDING THOSE THAT WILL HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR PRIORITY

University is a home for a different type of personalities. Those that gain admission through shady means, those that come to school to flaunt their new cars or dresses, and even those that only care about molesting lecturers and not really concerned about what the lecturer is teaching. Certainly, not everyone will/can help you with regards to your goal.

Upon getting to school, you should examine the kind of friends you keep company with, are they gonna help you achieve your priority or not? And do not deceive yourself, be sincere when answering that question, It goes a long way. We shall stop here for this session. Join us next session for more university tips.
